Open a new or existing survey
From your dashboard, click New Survey to start fresh, or open an existing survey you want to add AI-generated questions to. The survey editor will load with the question builder toolbar visible at the top.
Click "Generate with AI"
In the question builder toolbar, look for the Generate with AI button (marked with a sparkle icon). Clicking it opens the AI prompt panel where you describe what your survey is about.
Enter your topic or description
Type a description of your survey topic. For example: "Customer satisfaction survey for a SaaS product, targeting enterprise users." The more context you give, the more relevant the generated questions will be. You can mention the number of questions, audience, or specific themes you want covered.
Review generated questions
The AI produces a set of questions in a few seconds. Each question appears in the editor with a suggested question type (multiple choice, text, rating, etc.). Read through them to make sure they align with your survey objectives.
Edit, reorder, or remove questions
Click any question to edit its wording or change the question type. Drag and drop to reorder. Click the trash icon to remove a question, or the regenerate icon to get a new suggestion for just that item. You can mix AI-generated questions with manually created ones.
Save and publish
Once you are satisfied with the question set, click Save to store your changes. When you are ready to go live, click Publish and share the survey link with your audience.
Writing Better Prompts
The quality of AI-generated questions depends on the prompt you provide. Here are tips to get the best results:
- Be specific about the topic. Instead of "feedback survey," write "post-purchase feedback survey for an online electronics store focusing on delivery experience and product quality."
- Mention your audience. Specifying who will take the survey helps the AI choose appropriate language and question complexity. For example, "targeting IT managers at mid-sized companies."
- Specify the question count. Include a number like "generate 7 questions" so the AI targets the right length for your survey.
- Request question types. If you want a mix of rating scales and open-ended questions, say so. The AI will respect your preference when choosing formats.
